BACKGROUND

Facility Design Group (FDG) is a business that has worked across in excess of 64 Australian Leisure Centre and Civic Projects. Stephen Johansson and his team are specialists in Wet and Dry Leisure Centre architectural design and construction. Stephen has both Architectural expertise as well as hands on Construction knowledge, he is an architect who completely understands Construction, delivering on budget and within deadlines. Stephen’s passion and unique perspective is what makes this project so interesting… he was considering retiring prior to the rebrand, but his daughter introduced us. We gained an understanding of the pleasure he gained from researching, designing and building a central hub for communities to meet and exercise across all ages. This is what drives Stephen – “Being able to build a facility that brings communities together.”

STRATEGY

This rebrand was an example of why being amazing at what you do… sometimes is just not enough.

FDG would be one, if not the most experienced Leisure Facility Architect firm in Australia, but even with over 64 projects under their belt, they were being passed over for tenders they were ideally matched for.

Expert businesses need to present to the world as Experts and this was the strategy, we used for FDG – An expert business with a unique perspective, community focused passion and guaranteed deliverables.

SOLUTION

We started with a strong logo and unique colour scheme, which meant something to Stephen and his team. The choice of yellow in the brand was both to represent the sun and the fact that Stephen likes to include a yellow feature wall in all his Leisure Centre projects.

We used the business icons across water marks in Stationery, Marketing Material and Power point templates, as well as it being featured in the centre of the Website Home page.

Both Wet and Dry versions of the business Capability Statement we created and added as a download on the new stylish, yet simple site. The home page is simple with and amazing pool night-shot and the central bold icon, the projects and images are the heros of this site and are show cased in a smooth project gallery.

The transformational rebrand of this business has made an enormous difference to the business and its perception. Creating a brand that represents its expertise as well as it’s values and culture.
